Gluten-Free and Fibromyalgia

I have seen many articles online about how eating gluten free products can help ease fibromyalgia symptoms. A lot of people who suffer from fibromyalgia cannot tolerate wheat.  I personally have some issues with my fibro symptoms when I eat regular pasta, white bread, and other products that are not whole grain.  I have not had any issues with whole grain products, though. I buy whole grain wheat pasta from the store and I have no problems after I eat it.  I have heard the statement about people with fibromyalgia dealing with different issues before, but I am just curious to see if anyone is like me. I know many of us crave sugar, which is bad for us. I am in that same boat. I don't do well with a lot of caffeine either, which agrees with many articles I have read when it comes to substances that fibromyalgia patients cannot tolerate. Does anyone out there with fibromyalgia tolerate pasta made with whole grains, just not the cheap regular stuff? What about something different than the gluten free claim that it seems other patients can't tolerate but you can? Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Now what, God?

"But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you."  Psalm 39:7

Do any of you ever feel this way?  Are you stuck in a rut?  Have you been unable to continue working your full time job due to your illness?  So many times I still look in the wrong places when I'm bored or in a rut.  We eat the wrong foods, hang around or chat online with the wrong people, look at discouraging websites, watch bad tv, and the list goes on.  Let us all keep our hope in the Lord.  He is steadfast and true.  Although we are not sure why we suffer, we need to know that we all matter to God and he should matter to us.  I am just as guilty if not more than the next fibro sufferer of watching tv instead of at least looking at a verse or two or reading the bible for a half hour.  Temptations are everywhere.  They make us lose focus on what is most important.  If we keep our mind on the Lord, he can help us through our low points.
Any thoughts or comments?

Fibromyalgia Diet

Has this diet helped anyone's symptoms?  I'm about to give it my best shot.  I must admit, though, it will be hard to stick to.  Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

Fibromyalgia Sufferers in Ohio and Tennessee

John 14:13

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

I want to let all those in Ohio and other areas of the midwest without power that I am praying for them.  Those that are reading, please pray for those affected by the flooding and the power outages.  Being without power is especially hard for those with medical conditions and we must pray that God helps them through this time.

The following article about the weather can be found on weather.com and was written by Tim Ballisty:

Severe storms and flooding rains swept across the eastern half of the United States. This latest severe weather episode began on Sunday afternoon (February 27) and continued into Monday night.
Heavy rain flooded parts of the Ohio Valley and the mid-South. Northern Ohio and eastern Tennessee experienced the worst of the flooding with streets inundated with water.
Strong storms marched through Chattanooga, Birmingham, Montgomery, Atlanta, Greenville-Spartanburg and Raleigh during the afternoon and evening hours.
Sadly, the severe weather resulted in two fatalities in the state of Tennessee.

Bible Verse about Jesus and Healing and view on doctors today

Matthew 4:23
Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

I hope that more and more doctors duplicate the example of Jesus in this verse to the best of their ability to help heal sick people such as ourselves. I have faith that there are good doctors out there that are in the business to help people and not get rich. I met an incredible doctor that cares deeply about his patients at my church. He is not just all about medication when it comes to fibromyalgia, he is a concerned advocates for his patients that have the disease. He is Paul Paily, MD of Houston, TX. Please look him up if you are in the market for a caring doctor. If you live in another area and are looking at doctors to go to, read reviews. I linked to one review site and there are many more. There are several good doctors in my area, but it is good to know that I am going to one who is a Christian first and a doctor second.
I'm so glad that Jesus sets the bar so high for all of us, not just doctors. If it is in our power or knowledge (with the help of Christ) to help someone, we should do all we can. We then follow the example that Jesus set 2,000 years ago.
What are your thoughts on this post?

Bible verse about Hope

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. (Deuteronomy 33:27)

Isn't it great knowing that God is eternal and everlasting? We are headed for a great place when this life is over. We should make the most of this life while we are here, though. How do we do that? I believe it is important to put God first in our life. We know especially from this verse that God will provide a safe haven for us if we call on him. When we are feeling depressed, sick, and lonely, God will help us if we just call on him. We have to swallow our pride and call on the Lord knowing that He is the All-Knowing and the Great I am. Not us. The Lord will always prove to be faithful to us and we must do the same.

Faith is a shield!

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  -Ephesians 6:16

This is such a powerful verse.  I don't know about everyone else, but a lot of the flaming arrows of the evil one that are thrown at me are negative thoughts and fears.  Negative thoughts seem to turn into fears sometimes.  Every time a negative thought enters my brain, I should always think about how Christ died for us and what that means.  It helps me to think of the big picture when I think about what Jesus did for us.  Then that thought seems to simply fade.  If it doesn't fade, then I (and others that this happens to) need to pray about it.  We need to say, "Here you go, God.  I'm casting all my cares upon you."  We need to actually do this, though.  That means that we cannot pray about it and just keep worrying about it.  We need to have faith that God will take care of the problem.
What activities or things can push out negativity?  Christian music can tend to get negative thoughts and fears out of our heads.  Exercising, although hard to do sometimes with fibromyalgia, can push negativity out.  Satan wants us to be thinking negative thoughts and to always live in fear.  It is not God's way.  If anyone has any other suggestions on how to get rid of negative thoughts and fears, please comment!  Thanks!
